Loads of Fun: A Trip to Diggerland USA

By Sara Kunkel, Publisher/Editor Macaroni Kid Mt Carmel-Schuylkill-Pottsville May 7, 2018

My family had the pleasure of being hosted by Diggerland for Media Day this past Saturday!  We had such a perfect visit, I can't say enough great things--my husband and son included. A proud construction worker's daughter, I have been wanting to take my son since they opened!

We headed down the turnpike and in under two hours we arrived at the park.  Diggerland is a perfect one-tank day trip from our area. Anticipation set in as we were able to view the awesome attractions as we pulled up to the lot.  Parking was great; we were able to park right next to the steps to the main entrance. Frankly, I didn't see a bad spot anywhere. Upon entering the park, you are greeted with clearly marked kiosks and super friendly staff. We cannot say enough about how friendly, patient & helpful the staff is.

We had about two hours to enjoy the park before meeting with the owners and staff, then stayed an additional hour or two afterward. The pace of the park was very relaxed, there isn't a lot of walking involved and seating is plentiful throughout.  There are snack stands, a pavilion with plenty of seats and tables, and you are also able to visit your vehicle if you packed your own lunch or drinks. Restroom area was very clean, easily located and lots of stalls available.

We made sure to check out everything, including the 5 new attractions: Rugged Riders, Farm Tractors, Soaring Eagle Zipline (my husband was brave and went on that one!), the Ventracs & Elevation Station! The weather was incredible, mid-70s, which helped set the tone for our day.  The owners, brothers Ilya & Yan Girlya, pointed out that they will be adding more misting fans and shaded areas to provide comfort for their guests during hotter days. Some more exciting news they shared with us is that they will be adding an additional 7 acres onto the park with plans for new attractions soon! We can't wait to see what they think up next!

Diggerland was a wonderful experience and we are so thankful to them for hosting us. We are already talking about going back again soon and have been asked about our visit by a lot of our friends and family!
