Go Fly a Kite!

If you are looking for something fun to do, get your family out the house this weekend and be sure to stop by Berks County Youth Recreation Facility for Go Fly a Kite Day on Saturday, April 29th (rain date April 30th)! In collaboration with Reading YMCA's Healthy Kids Day, they have a whole afternoon of FREE activities planned from 12- 5pm, including:

  • Soccer Clinics 
  • Bring a canned food donation for the Food Bank
  • Law Enforcement Car Competition
  • YMCA Childcare Art/Talent Show
  • Disc Golf Clinic
  • Knocker Soccer
  • Home-Run Derby
  • Health and Wellness Screenings
  • Arts and Crafts, plus Face Painting
  • Farm to Fork (plant/grow your own veggies) plus Healthy Food Prep and Tasting
  • Hawk Mountain Sanctuary demonstration
  • Kite Making and Contests
  • Demos by Professional Kiters
  • Hot Air Balloon Demos
  • Food Available or bring your own lunch​


There will also be a kite judging contest!

1098 County Rd., Leesport PA 19533

From Rt. 183 and 222 intersection, take Rt. 183 north to traffic light at West Leesport Rd., Turn Left onto West Leesport Rd. to Stop sign. Turn right onto County Rd., continue approx. 4/10 of a mile, turn left into facility at barn.
